Moderate moorland walk up Newsholme Dean to Keighley Moor Reservoir. Vast grouse moors with views over the Upper Worth Valley and across to Ilkley Moor. 7.3 miles, pub call afterwards (The Turkey Inn at Goose Eye). Leader Harry.

Moderate to strenuous field and hill walk to Captain Cook's Monument and Roseberry Topping. One very steep ascent, spectacular views including distant seascape. 7 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.

Moderate field and byways walk to Shibden Hall, Northowram and Shibden Dale. Wide ranging vistas and dramatic parkland. 8 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Shibden Hall main car park off A58 just beyond Halifax. Turn into narrow slip road on right before Shell petrol station. NGR SE108261.
Health Warnings. Road signs and lane markings through Halifax are mesmerizing, stay alert! If trying out this walk yourself avoid the area of Ringby Lane and Swales Moor, its an industrial blot on the landscape deep in sludge!

Moderate field and woodland walk to Hardcastle Crags, Crimsworth Dean, Wadsworth War Memorial, Pecket Well Clough and Heptonstall. Grand views with three down and three ups!! 9 miles, pub call afterwards (The New Delight at Colden). Leader Roy.
Meet on Clough Hole Bridge NT car park (£4.00 P&D). This is on the narrow road from Burnley over Widdop to Hebden Bridge 1 mile from its end at Slack where it joins the Long Causeway Road from Cliviger. NGR SD969298.

Moderate hill, field and woodland walk over Biskey Howe, School Knott, Grandsire (818 feet asl), Cleabarrow, Undermillock Common, Brant Fell and Post Knott. 9 miles, no need to bring packed lunch - the excellent Troffers Dales Way Tea Shop at Hag End is en-route. Leader Roy.
Meet on Chris's drive, Hill Crest, Biskey Howe Road, Bowness on Windermere. Turn off A591 into Windermere town and continue through on A5074 down towards Bowness. On hill going down to lake take sharp left up Biskey Howe Road just before Methodist Church. NGR SD408970.

Easy stroll around Tatton Park past the Hall and through the Beech Avenue to Knutsford (quaint buildings) and the Moor. Returning alongside Tatton Mere to see the Old Hall, landing field and Airborne Forces Memorial (site of first parachute training). 8 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.

Moderate to strenuous hill, field and riverside walk to Hubberholme, Cray, Buckden Pike, Knuckle Bone and Starbotton. 10.5 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Buckden P&D car park (£3.20). Turn off A59 at Skipton on Grassington Road B6160 for 10 miles up valley to village of Buckden. NGR SD942773.

Moderate deer reserve, hill, field, towpath and country lanes walk to the Cage, Furness Vale and the end of the Peak Forest Canal at Whaley Bridge. Possibly the prettiest stretch of canal in the NW and certainly some of the finest green hill and valley views. 10 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.

Moderate hill, field, woodland and country lanes walk overlooking the Ribble Valley between Settle and Stainforth incorporating Castlebergh viewpoint, Langcliffe and Stainforth Scar. Returning via Catrigg Force and Attermire Scar. 10 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Settle Greenfoot P&D car park. Turn into Ingfield Road by Falcon Hotel. NGR SD820634.

Moderate hill, field, dismantled railway, towpath and country lanes walk down to Delph and the Tame Water then along the Delph Donkey trail for lunch at Uppermill picnic site. Returning along the Huddersfield canal and over Wharmton Hill and Doctor Lane. Optional 1.5 mile fair weather extension/diversion to Strinedale Reservoirs. 8 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Bishop's Park car park at Grains Bar near Oldham. M62 Junction 21 turning right on A663 through Newhey and after 1.5 miles turn left up Buckstones Road (B6197). Straight on at Grains Bar Cross Roads, still B6197 but fork immediate right into Ship Lane and car park is on right. NGR SD966082.

Moderate field, lanes and moorland tracks walk to Roundhill Reservoir, Arnagill Moor, Sandy Hill and the Druid's Temple. 10.5 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet at Leighton Reservoir near Masham, Yorkshire. A59 to Blubberhouses turning left to Pateley Bridge and continuing into upper Nidderdale through Ramsgill. Turn right at Lofthouse over moor road. Parking marked on O.S. map is "for anglers only" but there is a small layby. NGR SE157787.

Moderate country park, hill, woodland and field walk through Grin Low Woods to Solomon's Temple and then over Leap Edge and along the full length of Axe Edge (1807 feet asl) for vast vistas. 9 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Buxton Country Park car park (P&D for Poole's Cavern). Follow brown signs from either A53 Leek Road or A515 Ashbourne Road. The country park is in Green Lane, Burbage to the SW of Buxton centre. NGR SK050726.

Moderate field, woodland and quiet lanes walk over Great Manshead Hill to Mill Bank and Ripponden to see the towering Ryburn and Baitings dams. 10 miles, pub call en-route at the Old Bridge Inn (reputably the oldest pub in Yorkshire). Leader Stephen.
Meet on Baitings Reservoir free car park on the A58 two miles west of Ripponden. M62 Junction 21 via Hollingworth Lake and Littleborough or M62 Junction 22 via A672 and left at Ripponden. NGR SE011191.

Moderate field, woodland, lanes and towpath walk to Elland and Brighouse Basin to see where canal meets river, then back through Cromwell Wood and over Southowram Hill (stunning views). Ending along the Hebble Trail and Halifax Branch canal. 10 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet in Salterhebble picnic car park on the A6026 just before junction with A629. NGR SE095224.

Moderate field, woodland, lanes and towpath walk to Mow Cop Castle and The Old Man of Mow (ruined folly on hill top and natural but unique shaped rock), then back via the Macclesfield and Trent and Mersey canals (fascinating locks and bridges). 10.5 miles, pub call en-route. Leader Roy.
Meet in Kidsgrove on the A50, car park to be arranged as when visited in 2008 there were footpath and car park closures. Approx. NGR SJ844544.

Moderate field, woodland and lanes walk into Cawthorne village and through the parklands and gardens of Cannon Hall, then though Deffer Wood to Pool Hill before looping back via Denby Hall, Cuckold and Tanyard. 9 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Cannon Hall P&D car park with toilets (Country Park by river). Signed off A635 between Holmfirth/Denby Dale and Barnsley. NGR SE272079.

Moderate field, woodland, lanes, dismantled railway and towpath walk onto the top of The Cloud and back along the Macclesfield Canal (Cheshire Ring Walk). 8 miles, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet on Timbersbrook free car park with toilets near Congleton, Cheshire. A527 out of Congleton towards Biddulph past railway station turning left at Hightown traffic lights and bearing left at pub. Turn left in Timbersbrook, car park just on right. NGR SJ894628.

Moderate field and riverside walk around the classic centre of Wharfedale taking in Linton, Thorpe, Burnsall, Hebden and Linton Falls. 7.5 miles, pub call afterwards (The Fountaine at Linton). Leader Roy.
Meet on Linton Falls P&D car park with toilets. A59 past Skipton turning left onto B6265 Grassington Road. Through Rylstone and Cracoe turning right opposite Swinden Quarry entrance into small lane to Linton. Continue through village then fork left signed to church. Straight over cross roads and fork right into cul-de-sac. NGR SE002632.

Strenuous fell and woodland walk to the centre of the Lake District. Incorporating Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Greenup Edge and Ullscarf (2370 feet asl). 10 miles, pub call afterwards (The Badger Bar at Grasmere). Leader Roy.
Meet on Dob Gill P&D car park with toilets 1 mile up the west side of Thirlmere. A591 past Grasmere over Dunmail Raise and turn left onto road round back of lake. NGR NY315140.

Moderate to strenuous fell, field, peat hags and country lanes walk around the crescent shaped ridge of Parlick, Fair Snape Fell, Fiendsdale Head and Hazelhurst Fell. Returning past Bleasdale Tower and Church. 11 miles, 1673ft asl, pub call afterwards. Leader Roy.
Meet in lane leading to Fell Foot. Turn up beside church in Chipping, then third right turn on narrow lane in 1.5 miles. NGR SD600444.
Sunday TBA 11:00amRed Dell Horse Shoe; Wetherlam
Strenuous Lake District mountain walk directly ascending Wetherlam from Coniston via Rascal How and Sweeten Crag, up Lad Hows and down Black Sails. 9 miles, 2502ft asl, pub call afterwards (The Black Bull). Leader Roy.
Meet in lane leading to Coppermines parking alongside high wall. Turn up side of Black Bull past brewery in Coniston village centre. NGR SD301978.
Sunday TBA 11:00amBakewell Tart
Moderate field, lanes and dismantled railway walk to Bakewell town with time to visit the pudding shops before lunch by the tranquil River Wye. Returning along the Monsal Trail with a glimpse at the ornate Thornbridge Hall. 9 miles, pub call afterwards (The Monsal Head). Leader Roy.
Meet in front of All Saints Church, Ashford in the Water parking on roadside. Take A6 from Buxton towards Bakewell for 10 miles or A623 from Chapel-en-le-Frith for 9 miles turning right onto B6465 through Wardlow and Monsal Head. Either way turn into village main street towards the round shelter. NGR SK195697.

Moderate field, woodland, hill and quiet lanes walk through Levens Deer Park and alongside the River Kent by the old gunpowder works to Scout Scar. 764 ft ASL with its unique mushroom shelter viewpoint. 12.5 miles, tea and scones afterwards at Ian and Christine's. Leaders, Ian and Christine.
Meet at Newlands in Hutton Lane, Levens village. M6 Junction 36 onto A590 South Lakes. Take slip road at Brettargh Halt and left at roundabout following A590. Then first public road on left, the old A6 to Levens Hall. Turn right at T junction and keep right into Levens village Go past village shop on left keeping left when main lane forks right and over cross roads into Hutton Lane for 0.5 mile. NGR SD486888.

Moderate field, woodland, hill and canal towpath walk along the Cheshire Ring canal by Bosley Locks to Bosley Reservoir, Sutton Common (1,319 feet ASL), and Sutton Reservoir. Superb views to Jodrell Bank, Teggs Nose and Shutlingsloe. 11 miles, pub call afterwards (The Fools Nook). Leader Roy.
Meet at Bosley Locks canal bridge parking on roadside. Take A523 from Macclesfield towards Leek for 4 miles. Turn right into Bullgate Lane signed North Rode. NGR SJ905669.
Sunday TBA 11:00amTo Hades and Back
Moderate to strenuous field, woodland and moor walk around Digley Reservoir to Holme, then through the Yateholme reservoir complex into Ramsden Clough and climbing out onto the broad flat top of Snailsden Edge (1,560 feet ASL). Returning via Hades, Elysium and Holmbridge. 10.5 miles, pub call afterwards (The Huntsman at Harden Hill). Leader Roy.
Meet on Digley reservoir car park near Holmbridge. Take A669 from Oldham through Lees, Grotton and Grasscroft, then turn sharp right over railway bridge just before Uppermill to pick up A635 Holmfirth Road. Once over Saddleworth Moor look out for a small right turn at the large stone polo mint (National Park marker stone) into Acres Lane and right again at Green Gate Road. NGR SE111063.
